"What you perceive, your observations, feelings, interpretations, are all your truth. Your truth is important. Yet it is not The Truth."

Metabolic Metastasis

"Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth."

Psalms 71:9

It was during my freshman year, roughly around 5 years ago when I first encountered the person who is now deeply engraved within my life.  But it isn't the typical tale where it was love at first sight.  Quite frankly it was quite the contrary.  On a bus ride back to school from a football game marching band performance, a group of bored teens decided to prank call any number visible from the the streets.  We called insurance companies, pawn shops, and anything else announced on billboards, with such lame pranks such as "hey where are they hookers I ordered", but it sure as hell entertained us.  Now, this was the very first time I spoke to this person, but I thought that this stranger was too cool for me.  I wanted their friendship, but how could I approach someone so way out of my league?!  In a ridiculous effort to establish a bond, I began calling them a "dyke" whenever i would see them walking in the Sam Rayburn hallways.  I don't remember why, but they took it in the best possible way imaginable.  They returned the favor and for a few months those were the only words shared between us "dyke".  I think that that one word might have been enough for us to form some sort of friendship because eventually, the one word conversations became full fledged conversations. We then started hanging out everyday after school.  We formed an amazing bond, something supernatural.  He, the zombie, and I the werewolf. Haha! Man, those were the days. From then on we have been best (vest) friends.  Nicco Meza.  Don't you dare forget about me.  Ever.

(Yeah, this is OUR song.)

What is a better word you could use that has the same meaning as "crush"?  And I'm not talking about the kind that when applied to a roach from your foot causes it's internal organs and body juices to explode all over the floor. No. I'm talking about the kind that causes someone to pass anonymous notes to another body and tells them how cute they are. Crush. As in: I have a crush on you.  How the heck did America get a word like "crush" to mean something so romantic.  So after looking for a synonym for the word, I picked out the best words to properly describe what I think crush truly means: admiration & inclination.  Crushing on someone simply means that.  Having inclined feelings of admiration towards someone.  But why call it crush?  I think that it's called so, because this is the moment where you make it or break it.  In surfing terms, when you see a crush coming your way, you either ride it out, or get pummeled by it.  Same thing with our situation, we see someone we are fond of, we either make them grow fond of you, or sit still while you watch this wave pass you by.  So your options are: make a move (cute notes are effective 95% of the time), forget about it and look at the rest of the sea with 7 BILLION more fishes, or stay down after falling off from the crush.  You gotta know when to fold them.

(And if you know HOW to fold them, try some origami!)

Soliloquietly

And I find comfort
Here, isolated
They say man is like the butterfly.

Yet I await,
Unsatiated
Flowers pollinate, by and by.

Bumble on by,
For you are belated
Honey attracts more flies...
